My own companies run on systems I built. So do other people's. I've always liked the assist more than the goal.
Building my own is one test. Getting brought into someone else's is the other.
I come in as a COO or a right hand, fractional or full-time, depending on what the problem needs.

The product follows. Whatever the machine is missing, I build. Every company I've left was better equipped than I found it.
